Winner - Amy Richardson
Congratulations,
Amy Richardson, of Bowden. Amy is currently attending Lakeland College
in Vermilion, enrolled in the Ag. Business program. Amy's extracurricular
activities include her involvement in the Stock dog club. Amy's involvement
with cattle began in 1993 when she joined the Eagle 4-H Beef Club,
which she participated in for 10 years. She held various positions
of president, district council representative, vice president & club
reporter. She was involved in various club committees. She has also
enjoyed attending many interclub, district, regional & provincial
activities. Amy has attended summer camps, L.T.C.S., Club Week, Selections & Provincial
judging. In 2001 Amy was awarded a trip to Regina, Saskatchewan for
the Provincial Judging competition. In 2002 through Selections, Amy
won the Forestry trip to the Atlantic Provinces.
Amy purchased
her first Red Angus heifer at Red Roundup in 1995. This got her started
in the Res Angus breed. In 1996, Amy won one of the 4-H $1000 draws
from the Alberta Angus Association. With this she purchased her second
heifer from Red Roundup. With this heifer Amy won various Grand & Reserve
Championships. As well in 1996 Amy won the Grand Champion Steer award
with her Angus cross steer.
Amy hopes
to continue on increasing her Red Angus herd in the future. Upon completion
of her program at Lakeland College, she plans on returning to the Agricultural
Field.
